The UPS 5000VA HV Power Supply provides a cost-effective, extended runtime power backup to IBM System x servers, in a more efficient use of
space.

The IBM UPS5000 introduces the most power dense UPS to the IBM UPS product portfolio. It utilizes advanced backup power technology ensuring maximum protection of equipment and data and increasing availability. High power efficiency is delivered through the capability of automatically switching the UPS to the efficiency mode appropriate for required power protection. Multiple line cord support allows for implementation of the single model UPS5000 to multiple geographies.

The UPS 5000VA HV power supply is ideal for environments where high-availability servers and components require backup power to sustain business activity. The following customer-supplied wall outlets and line cords are required:

Hardware requirements

The UPS 5000VA HV must be installed in an Enterprise or S2 rack or a 19-inch EIA-310-D industry-standard rack.

Software requirements

The UPS 5000VA HV will provide backup power to your server regardless of the operating system used. However, to enjoy the benefits and
manageability features provided with PowerChute and/or PCNS 2.2.3 software (via the Network Management Card) included with this UPS, one of the following operating systems must be used:
