The Brocade 2-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet Converged Network Adapter and the Brocade Converged 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module provide these benefits:

• A Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) solution requires less cabling, cooling, and power for up-front reduction in network investment.
• Dynamic Ports on Demand capability provides users the flexibility to enable any combination of FC and CEE ports as they see fit and experience FCoE benefits without heavy investment.
• FCoE products can easily be implemented on a client's existing networking infrastructure, can be implemented in phases, and provide for protection of network investment.
• Brocade's Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) is fully integrated with IBM Systems Director for end-to-end data-center management.
• Fully non-blocking ASIC architecture on CNA enables low latency, which provides for simpler, less time-consuming implementation of HPC and storage deployments.

The Brocade 2-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet Converged Network Adapter for IBM BladeCenter and the Brocade Converged 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter are part of a leading FCoE solution for IBM BladeCenter that offers Fibre Channel migration and investment protection, maximum bandwidth and performance, and simplicity in a converged environment.

This solution is the industry's first truly converged FCoE BladeCenter switch with native Fibre Channel and Ethernet ports. The FCoE switching provides up-front reduction in SAN/LAN cost and complexity and increased rack utilization. It requires less cabling, cooling, and power, which means up-front reduction in network investment.

The Brocade Converged 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter also features Dynamic Ports on Demand capability via the Port Upgrade Key. This capability allows you to enable any combination of Fibre Channel and Ethernet ports based on your infrastructure requirements, and to experience FCoE benefits without significant investment.

With the base model Brocade Converged 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module, you can enable 16 of the 30 ports on the switch (8 x 10 Gigabit CEE faceplate ports, 8x 8 Gigabit FC faceplate ports, and 14 x 10 Gigabit CEE backplane ports). If you purchase the Port Upgrade Key, you can enable all 30 ports on the Switch Module for a fully realized FCoE solution.

These products can easily be implemented on an existing 10 Gigabit networking infrastructure and can also function as an FCoE switch as needed. This maintains existing standards, allowing you to leverage unique Brocade benefits in an existing network infrastructure. Also, the products can be implemented in phases and provide for protection of your network investment.

Brocade's Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) is fully integrated with IBM Systems Director. This further simplifies the migration from Fibre Channel to FCoE and provides a "single pane of glass" for end-to-end data-center management.

In addition, these products, when used together, provide a fully non-blocking architecture for low latency, which provides for simpler, less time-consuming implementation of HPC and storage deployments.
