The Cisco Systems Fiber Intelligent Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module for IBM eServer BladeCenter offers:
  • Serves as a layer 2 Ethernet switching option for BladeCenter
  • Delivers external SFP module slots enabling Gigabit SX fiber optic interfaces that connect to external networks
  • Resides in an I/O module slot of the IBM BladeCenter chassis
  • Connects to the server blades via 14 internal GbE interfaces (server ports) over the eServer BladeCenter mid-plane
