Overview

DLT VS80 internal SCSI tape drive
The Digital Linear Tape (DLT) VS80 Internal SCSI Tape Drive joins the IBM family of DLT tape offerings available for IBM eServer xSeries servers.

Take advantage of solid performance, excellent data storage capacity, and a high density form factor while using popular VS80 backup technology.

Performance
The DLT VS80, using Ultra2 Low Voltage Differential (LVD) SCSI interface, delivers strong performance with data transfers up to:

  • 3MB/s in native mode: 10.8GB/hr
  • 6MB/s in compressed mode(2): 21.6GB/hr

High density
The VS80 tape backup is a compact, high-density storage device with excellent storage capacity for entry to mid range server applications.

A 5.25 inch, half high form factor enables economical internal installation into many xSeries and Netfinity servers. Storage capabilities up to:

  • 40GB in native mode
  • 80GB in compressed mode

Easy to use and service
The DLT VS80 features firmware update capability for easy microcode updates over the SCSI bus. The device contains convenient LEDs combined with on board diagnostics to indicate:

  • Drive operating status
  • When head cleaning is needed
  • Error conditions to help diagnose problems

100/200GB LTO half high tape drive
This attractively priced, entry offering into LTO technology is a new benchmark for mid to high end IBM eServer xSeries servers requiring high capacity, high performance, and high reliability tape solutions in a 5.25 inch, half high form factor.

Using its onboard hardware data compression feature, and assuming a 2:1 compression ratio, this drive can store up to 200GB per cartridge, at a backup rate of up to 54GB/hr. It delivers solid performance through attachment to a supported 80MB/s Ultra2 low-voltage differential (LVD) SCSI adapter or onboard controller.

Warranty
3 year limited, Customer carry in and exchange (CCE)
