Three new NetBAY rack cabinets join the family of rugged, attractively priced, rack solutions tailored to meet your requirements from entry- to advanced-enterprise environments. These 19-inch, industry-standard rack cabinets support rack-mountable IBM eServer xSeries and Netfinity servers up to 28 inches deep(1).

NetBAY42 Standard Rack Cabinet (SR)
This 42U (2) high rack conforms to the industry-standard, EIA-310-D for 19-inch, type A rack cabinets. Features include:

• Perforated front door - Improved air flow for a fan-free environment
• Six side-wall compartments - Supports 1 U-high power distribution units (PDU)s and switches without taking up valuable rack space
• Improved cable management system - Cable channel runs from top to bottom
• Side panels as a standard feature - Simplifies ordering and shipping
• Front and rear door hinged on either side - Provides flexibility to open in either direction
• Front and rear doors include locks and keys - Helps secure servers

NetBAY42 Standard Expansion Rack Cabinet (SX)
The NetBAY42 SX provides an excellent solution for creating rack suites to economically support multiple servers and supporting devices.

The NetBAY42 SX contains the same features as the NetBAY42 SR with the exception that, as an expansion cabinet, it does not require or include side panels. Instead of side panels, it includes rack attachment hardware as a standard feature to simplify:

• Shipping
• Installation
• Setup of complex, rack-suite or baying installations

NetBAY25 Standard Rack Cabinet (SR)
Identical in design and features as the NetBAY42 SR, except it:

• Provides 25 U of rack space
• Contains two single side-wall compartments
• Can be shipped with configured servers - Helps reduce configuration and support costs for clustering and small business applications(3)

(1) Servers of greater depth can be supported by removing the front and rear doors.
(2) One U equals 44.45 mm (1.75 inches).
(3) Requires use of the pallet that ships with the rack unit.

These NetBAY offerings are 19-inch, 42 U or 25 U (model-dependent) rack cabinets designed to contain rack-mountable xSeries and Netfinity servers. They also support the following options associated with these servers:

• Rack-mountable data storage devices
• Tape backup units
• Communication devices

All models feature a perforated-steel, front door to optimize cooling while maintaining security by lock and key. This is extremely important for applications where high-density appliances, or heat generating multiprocessor servers, are installed.

Cable management is easier through the design of a cable channel running from top to bottom.

The NetBAY42 SR, NetBAY42 SX, and NetBAY25 SR are new heavy-duty cabinets that support many of the same options as the current Netfinity Rack and NetBAY22 rack enclosures. As a result, when deploying both rack types throughout your enterprise, you will find it easier to order, configure, support, and service these units. Shared options include:

These NetBAY rack cabinets conform to the EIA standard 310-D for cabinets, racks, panels, and associated equipment. They are 19-inch, type A cabinets with universal hole spacing and either 42 U or 25 U (model-dependent) of vertical mounting space. One U equals 1.75 inches (44.45 mm).

The internal dimensions for these rack cabinets allow support for units up to 28 inches (711.2 mm) deep, plus cable management space up to 6.25 inches (159 mm).

Limitations
When servicing or sliding devices out of these rack cabinets, it is required that the front stabilizer plate be used in accordance with the instructions included in the installation/safety publications.
