Content

The new IBM eserver xSeries 130 and xSeries 135 pack an amazing amount of power and functionality into an ultra-thin 1U, rack-optimized Web Hosting Server appliance. The xSeries 130 represents the 2nd generation of web appliances, enabling the customer to scale the performance of their web host their requirements grow. The xSeries 135 is an ideal web hosting solution for customers who have chosen the open source architecture for their web infrastructure.

These xSeries Appliance Servers are ideal for compute-intensive Web-based applications where minimum space, reduced installation support, and maximum systems management are of primary importance.

Power and capacity

Apply powerful processors, large amounts of memory, and high-bandwidth PCI buses to Web-farm applications:

  • SMP-capable 800 MHz(1) Pentium(R) III processor with 256 KB advanced transfer (full-speed) cache
  • 133 MHz front-side bus (FSB) processor - operations to memory and bus interface at 133 MHz
  • 256 MB of high-speed 133 MHz memory - synchronized to the 133 MHz FSB processor
  • 32- and 64-bit PCI buses
  • Includes 9.1 GB(2) 10,000-rpm hard disk drive (HDD)
  • High-performance integrated server function:

  • ECC memory - detects and corrects single-bit memory errors
  • Predictive Failure Analysis (PFA) on processors, voltage regulator module (VRM), memory, fans, power supply, and HDD options - warn of problems before they occur
  • Servicing is faster and easier - innovative Light-Path Diagnostics, improved on-board diagnostics, and LED diagnostic panel
  • Three-year, on-site, limited warranty(3)

(1) MHz denotes the internal/external clock speed of the microprocessor only, not application performance. Many factors affect application performance.
(2) When referring to hard drive or tape drive capacities, GB stands for one billion bytes. Total user capacity may vary
