Hardware requirements for non-IBM systems
The 20/40GB DLT SCSI Tape Drive is supported on most non-IBM, Intel-based systems with a supported SCSI controller and an available 5.25-inch (extra depth) bay. However, IBM has qualified the DLT 20/40 tape drive only for the Netfinity systems listed above.

Software requirements
The 20/40GB DLT SCSI Tape Drive ships with trial versions of popular backup/restore application CDs, supporting Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, NetWare 4.x and NetWare 5.x. Customers can install this trial software on a 'try and buy' basis, or use their own software. All supported hardware and software configurations can be viewed at the IBM ServerProven Web site at http://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/serverproven/compat/us/.
