- The Netfinity EXP200 (3530-1RU) is an ideal solution for enterprise, business-critical applications requiring high speed and large amounts of data storage, protected by fault-tolerant, high-availability features.
- A hot-plug power supply and cooling fans provide the resiliency to keep network server applications up-and-running.
Description
High-Capacity/High-Availability
- The Netfinity EXP200 is a cost-effective, large capacity, high-availability solution for enterprise customers using rack cabinets or for installations requiring free-standing tower configurations. With 10 hot-swap, half-high drive bays, each Netfinity EXP200 can support up to 364 GB of high-speed (up to 80 MB/sec) data storage when attached to a supported Wide Ultra2 SCSI adapter or integrated Netfinity controller. Because of its compact 3U design, up to 14 EXP200 units can be housed in a single 42 U rack cabinet, yielding disk storage of over 5 terabytes.
- The Netfinity EXP200 is resilient to failure. The optional hot-swap Netfinity EXP200 350 W Redundant Power Supply can be quickly swapped out if a failure occurs without powering down the server or the Netfinity EXP200. Each power supply contains its own power cord. Two hot-swap cooling units, containing separate dual fans, provide cooling redundancy. If a failure occurs with either of the redundant power supplies or cooling fans, an LED will light to indicate a fault and its location.
- The Netfinity EXP200 contains SCA-2 (direct-dock), hot-swap drive bays that support replacement of disk drives without powering down the server. This feature, in combination with supported Netfinity ServeRAID adapters, provides fault-tolerant data storage solutions. The best way to avoid a problem is to detect it before it occurs. All Netfinity EXP200 HDD options contain the PFA feature that, when used in conjunction with Netfinity Manager, can alert the system administrator of an impending disk drive failure up to 24 hours before it occurs. The failing unit can be replaced before it degrades server performance.
- The Netfinity EXP200 contains an electronics board that interfaces between the external SCSI cables and hot-swap backplane. This board splits the backplane into two SCSI buses to support duplexing solutions. Twin-tailing is used with clustering software and allows two servers to be attached to a single Netfinity EXP200 for mission-critical enterprise storage solutions. The Netfinity EXP200 can support two servers sharing the same SCSI channel or two servers configured to use both SCSI buses independently. Clustering provides a very high degree of fault tolerance and high availability, because the network can continue to operate even if one of the servers goes offline. The remaining server can then take over, using the common data storage of the EXP200. Refer to the Planning Information section of the product announcement for more information on configuring the Netfinity EXP200.

Slim line or half height drive options.
- The Netfinity EXP200 shares the same drive options as the new Netfinity 8500R platform. This helps customers reduce service and support costs associated with maintaining replacement drive options.
- Supported drive options are pre-mounted on a common, hot-swap drive carrier:
- Hot swap drive carriers are only available as part of the optional hot swap HDD assembly.
- NOTE: Do not remove the drive from hot-swap drive carrier: Removal of the drive from hot-swap drive carrier voids the warranty.
- Included drive bezels are in slimline and half height.
- All bays must be occupied by a drive or a blank bezel to provide proper air flow for cooling.
- Do not discard the blank bezels.

The rear panel
- 2 external connections VHDCI 0.8 mm (female) LVD SCSI or SE SCSI
- SCSI ID and option switches
- The optional hot-swap Netfinity EXP200 350 W Redundant Power Supply can be quickly swapped out if a failure occurs without powering down the server or the Netfinity EXP200.
- Each power supply contains its own power cord.
- Two hot-swap cooling units, containing separate dual fans, provide cooling redundancy.
- If a failure occurs with either of the redundant power supplies or cooling fans, an LED will light to indicate a fault and its location.
