Removing the memory module (DIMM)
To remove a DIMM:
- Remove the top cover:
- Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
- Press the cover-release button.
- Slide the cover back approximately one half inch.
- Lift the cover off of the server, and set it aside.
- Remove the air baffle:
- Grasp the air baffle. Then, lift it up out of the server and set it aside.
- Carefully open the retaining clips on each end of the DIMM connector, lift the DIMM straight up and out of the server, and set it aside.
