Text from the audio portion of the DIMM air baffle removal movie

To remove the DIMM Air Baffle:

  1. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
  2. Remove the Top Cover:
    1. Push in on the button to release the top cover latch and then rotate it up. The cover will move approximately one-half inch to the rear.
    2. Lift the cover off and set it aside.
  3. Remove the DIMM Air Baffle:
    1. Grasp the baffle by the edges and lift it out of the server.

Note:If a full length adapter card in installed in Riser Card 1 it will be necessary to remove the riser card before removing the baffle.

Note: For proper cooling and airflow replace all air baffles before you turn on the server. Operating the server with any air baffle removed might damage server components.
