Text from the audio portion of the hot-swap hard drive removal movie
To remove the hot-swap hard drive:
- Slide the orange release latch to the left to unlock the drive handle and rotate it to the open position.
- Pull the drive assembly out of the bay approximately one inch, wait 45 seconds for the drive to spin down, and then remove the drive from the bay.
- To remove a filler panel, insert your finger into the finger hole and pull the filler panel from the bay.
Use the same procedure to remove any additional drives or filler panels.
Note: To maintain proper cooling do not operate the server for more than 10 minutes without a drive or a filler panel installed in each bay.
