Abstract
Rear fan air baffle removal movie for the IBM System x3500.
Content
To remove the Rear fan air baffle:
Remove the Left-side Cover:
- Unlock the side cover and press the cover-release latch down while rotating the top edge of the cover away from the server; then, lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
- Place the system on its right side this is the recommended service position.
Remove the Rear Fan Air Baffle:
- Slide the Air Baffle up and align the cutout with the hinge pins on the cage.
- Flex the side of the baffle to release the hinge pins and lift it off.
Here's a closer look at the cutout in the baffle and the hinge pin.
- If required, the baffle may be placed in the service position by pulling it up as far as it will go, then rotating it up and to the rear of the server.
