Abstract
IBM System x3550 (Type 1013, 1913, 7978) - Air Baffle removal movie
Content
To remove the Air Baffle:
- Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the Top Cover:
- Slide the cover release latches and rotate the Fan Door open.
- Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the chassis.
- Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Remove the Air Baffle:
- Flex the front end of the baffle to disengage the hinge tabs from the chassis, and then slide the baffle forward to free it from the system board. Lift the baffle out and place it aside.
Note: For proper cooling and air flow, replace the air baffle before turning on the server.
