To remove the riser card assembly
Remove the top cover:
-
Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.

Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the chassis.

Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Remove the riser card assembly:
- Grasp the riser card assembly and lift it straight up and out of the server. Place it on an ESD protected surface.
- Use the same procedure to remove the second riser card assembly if required.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
