To remove the operator information panel assembly:
Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the top cover:
- Rotate the top cover release latch up and slide the cover approximately one-half inch to the rear.
- Lift the cover off and place it aside.
Remove the top cover latch bracket:
- Loosen the retainer screw on the top-cover latch bracket and then grasp the top-cover latch bracket and lift it out of the server.
Remove the operator information panel assembly:
- Open the fan-locking handle on fan number one by sliding the release latch in the direction of the arrow.
- Pull up on the handle to lift the fan out of the server.
- Disconnect the Operator Information Panel ribbon cable from the I/O board.
- Separate the hook-and-loop fastener that holds the ribbon cable to the chassis.
- Slide the operator information panel release latch to the left and pull the panel out of the server as far as it will go.
- Press the release tabs through the holes in the bezel and then carefully pull the assembly and the ribbon cable out of the server.
Note: A small jeweler's screwdriver or similar tool is required to access the holes in the bezel.
