To remove a battery
Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the side cover:
- Unlock the side cover if required.
- Press down on the cover release latch and rotate the top of the cover away from the chassis.
- Lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Place the server on its side, this is the recommended service position.
Remove the battery:
- Rotate the rear adapter retention bracket to the open position.
- Using a flat blade probe press the battery clip away from the battery and lift it out of its socket.
