To remove the battery
Remove the side cover:
-
Turn off the server and all peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.

Place the system on its right side. This is the recommended Service Position.

Remove the two thumbscrews on the rear of the server. Slide the cover to the rear approximately one half inch and lift it off the server.
Remove the battery:

Raise the adapter retention guide and remove any adapters that may be in the way
-
Use a flat blade probe to press the battery clip away from the battery and lift it out of its socket.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
