To remove a system foot:
- Turn off the server and all attached peripheral devices.
- Disconnect all power cords and all external signal cables.
- For easier access to components, place the server on its side. This is the recommended service position.

Remove the side cover.
- Pull the cover release latch away from the server and slide the cover towards the rear of the server.
- Lift the cover off the server and set it aside.

Remove a system foot.
- Release the latch and pivot the foot out and off the system. Here is a closer look at the latch action.
