Abstract

Movie that provides instructions on removing and installing the diskette drive in a BladeCenter.

To remove the bezel:

  1. Press in the release tabs at the bottom of the bezel, rotate the bezel out and then lift up to remove.

To remove the media tray:

  1. Press in on the two latches and slide the media tray out of the BladeCenter

To remove the media tray cover:

  1. Use the two lift tabs to release the cover from the fasteners. Lift the cover, and then move it back to free
    the tabs from the slots in the tray, then lift the cover off.

To remove the diskette drive and cable:

  1. Disconnect the cable from the diskette drive.
  2. Release the spring clip from the retention hook and remove it from the drive.
  3. Slide the drive out of the tray.
  4. Lift the CD-ROM signal cable to gain access to the diskette drive cable connector on the customer interface card, then disconnect the diskette drive cable and remove it from the tray.

To install the diskette and cable:

  1. Slide the drive into the bay, align the holes in the drive with the holes in the tray, then insert the spring clip into the holes and secure the clip behind the retention hook.
  2. Connect the cable to the customer interface card and route it under the tab.
  3. Connect the cable to the diskette drive.

To install the media tray cover:

  1. Position the three cover tabs into the slots in the tray, and then rotate the cover down over the two fastener posts. Press down to secure.

To install the media tray:

  1. Slide the media tray into the BladeCenter until the latches secure it.

To install the bezel, insert the hinge tabs in the slots in the frame and then rotate the bezel down to the closed position.
