Open the cover on the air baffle assembly. Release the two DIMM latches. Lift the DIMM up and out of the socket.

Text description of memory DIMM installation

Open the cover on the air baffle assembly. Release the two DIMM latches. Lift the DIMM up and out of the socket. To install a DIMM: Press the DIMM into the socket until the latches close. Close the cover on the air baffle assembly.

Note: When you install additional DIMMs, they must be installed in pairs. DIMMs must be the same size, speed, type, and technology. DIMMs must be installed in the following order: slots 5 and 6 as the first pair of DIMMs, slots 3 and 4 as the second pair of DIMMs, slots 1 and 2 as the third pair of DIMMs.
