Logon: Invalid user ID or password results in inability to connect to the database

Question & Answer

Question

When logging on to Content Manager from the eClient using a system user ID, if either the user ID or password is spelled wrong, then the following message displays: "Can not connect to the database. The server might not be available or the connection to database can not be authenticated." Note: A "system" user ID refers to a user ID for which the "Use system password" checkbox is checked in the system administration client. No password will be stored in the ICMSTUSERS table of the library server database for a system user ID because for such a user ID the "system" (such as Windows®, UNIX®, or RACF) is used for authentication instead of Content Manager.
