Note:?Although this describes a site usability scenario within the retail industry the methodology can be applied by any business in finding problems as a result of website issues.
Business Requirement
Online Retail customers are facing issues/problems that are not visible at first and hard to justify but once found then it could be tracked and present as a report to reveal an impact and potential loss of business
Tealeaf analytics reports will help finding and eliminating problems with the website.
In this scenario it shows how flow in the design of the website might hurt the business.
During the investigation of potential revenue loss by browsing the site the condition was found:
When international checkout page was reached this at times returned a blank page. This condition was required to be investigated and quantified for potential revenue loss.
Event Modeling
To investigate this an event was created. The screenshot of event is below:
There are two conditions that should be met to trigger this event:
- Step attribute found in Step pattern path:

NOTE: this URL value is used here as an example and needs to be discovered by working with the customer site if customer has international checkout page.

Event Validation
Once the event creation is complete it can be validated by running test sessions through event tester to fix any unknown behavior.
Report Creation
Below is the report that shows the number of sessions affected with this issue. This will show the value of this event and help business analysts and IT to figure out the impact on the business and more importantly: fix this problem
