Question
How do you add more disk space to allow an increase in the persistence of sessions?
Answer
  1. Record the current size of the Canister/canister.dbs directory.? This value needs to increase.
  2. Record the current size of the Indexes directory.? Increase this value.
  3. Determine if you need to move only the Indexes so that the Canister subdirectory has room to increase.? This is the most likely scenario.? These instructions assume that only the Indexes need to be moved and that the Canister subdirectory has sufficient space for CANISTER.dbs to increase as needed.
  4. Shut down the Tealeaf server.
  5. Install the additional disk drive space.
  6. Start the Tealeaf server and ensure the new disk space is usable.
  7. Stop all Tealeaf services.
  8. Copy the Indexes directory and all sub-directories to the new drive.? Make a note of the of the directory to which they are copied.
  9. Run:? IndexConfig.exe.
  10. Select the IndexLib tab.
  11. Enter the name of the new Index directory in the Index Directory textbox.
  12. Start Tealeaf services.?
  13. Check the Windows Event Logs and Tealeaf logs for any errors.
  14. Use CanisterConfig to change the persistence time of session data.

Note that the Index directory must be mapped to a drive letter.? The Index Directory cannot use the \\servername\shared_drive UNC naming convention.

See Tealeaf Documentation:? How can Canister data and indexes be moved to a different drive or directory? and How to free up disk space.
