How do you upgrade the Passive Capture Application (PCA) when the rpm -Uvh command fails to upgrade the software?

Answer
  1. Log in as root using telnet.
  2. Stop the Tealeaf processes using: tealeaf stop all
  3. Backup the: /usr/local/ctccap/etc folder.
  4. Backup all your ptl files. Check their path by using the SSL Keys --> Loaded screen in the PCA web UI.
  5. Uninstall the current Passive Capture RPM using:?? rpm -e tealeaf-pca-<BUILD>-1.<DIST>.<ARCH>.rpm
  6. Rename the /usr/local/ctccap folder to /usr/local/ctccap.old.
  7. Install the new Passive Capture RPM using:?? rpm -ivh tealeaf-pca-<BUILD>-1.<DIST>.<ARCH>.rpm
  8. Restore the following files:?
  • ctc-conf.xml
  • privacy.cfg
  • privacy-defaults.cfg
  • All your PTL keys in their original location.
Start the Tealeaf processes using the command:??tealeaf start all
