Can the API be used to retrieve trended report data?

Answer

You can access trended Top Line Metrics data via the API by manually configuring an API URL to edit the lastTrendPeriods parameter from the default value of "1", to be the number of periods you wish to trend back.?

This feature of manually editing an API and getting trend view is available only for Top Line Metrics report and not for any other Digital Analytics Report.

Though the ViewID parameter is allowed in the API string for backwards compatibility, it is ignored. ?The Topline Trend API will always use the default view.

Adding the parameter to other report URLs won't result in a broken request, but won't return a trended view either.
