Answer
The SESSION_START event is called at the start of each visit. By default, the session length is 20 minutes.
You may want to trigger a welcome message for visitors who start their session coming to your site on certain device types, browsers, from specific campaigns, and more.
You can customize session length in the Configurable Settings.
