Question

How to use 'date-based' FIFO?

Answer

First In First Out (FIFO) used in Sterling Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) by default is month-based (MMYYYY).

But this can be easily overridden by any other number with custom FIFO logic. Say your requirement is to add the FIFO numbers as month- and day-based MMDDYYYY. This would make sure that any inventory coming in on the current day (e.g. 05192009) would be shipped out earlier than inventory coming in the next day (e.g. 05202009).

Pass the FIFO number in the input xml when you are receiving the inventory into the nodes.
