Question
How to delete or truncate MySQL binary files when using Gentran Integration Suite or GIS with MySQL as its database?
Answer
For GIS that is installed on a Windows operating system please follow the procedures below:
Note: One may run the procedures below while GIS is still up and running.
1. Click Start > select Run > type cmd > click Ok
2. Change the current directory to the GIS installation directory\bin
???? Example: type cd c:\sterlingcommerce\si\bin and hit Enter
???? Verify that you are in the installation directory\si\bin folder;
3.? Type the following command next:
???? control_mysql.cmd truncate
The above procedure will help remove majority of the MySQL? master or binary files within the installation directory\si\mysql\data folder.

For GIS that is installed on a UNIX operating system please follow the procedures below:
Note: One may run the procedures below while GIS is still up and running.
1. Logon to GIS server as the GIS admin/user
2. Change the current directory to the GIS installation directory\bin
???? Example: type cd GIS/bin and hit Enter
???? Verify that you are in the installation directory/bin folder;
3.? Type the following command next:
???? ./control_mysql.sh truncate
The above procedure will help remove majority of the MySQL master or binary files within the installation directory/mysql/data directory.
