PO Commitment Changed

Question & Answer

Question

PO Commitment Changed

Answer

PO Commitment Changed

Whenever a PO is placed suppliers send a commitment to the buyer. This alert is raised when there is a change in the committed quantity the committed dates or the committed price by the suppliers. This alert cannot be resolved automatically even if the variance in quantity date or price is solved because of subsequent commitments. The allowable discrepancy in the ship date delivery date quantity and price is configurable by the buyer organization for the suppliers.

Trigger Criteria for Raising the PO Commitment Changed Alert

Suppliers who send a PO Commitment are expected to commit the quantity within the committed date. The system raises this alert if the committed date quantity or price is different from the previous PO commitment date quantity or price as committed by the suppliers.

This alert is raised at the order line level.

Note: If a buyer receives a new commitment Sterling Supply Chain Visibility does not modify the PO Commitment Changed alert that was raised during the previous commitment. Therefore Sterling Supply Chain Visibility does not update mismatches if any in the PO Commitment Changed Alert Detail screen. The changes are visible only in the corresponding PO Detail screen.
