Delete a Product from a Quote

About this task

Youcan delete a product from a quote. For example a customer may havehad a change of mind and may not want to purchase a particular productin which the customer had shown interest earlier. In such a scenarioyou can delete the product from the quote before presenting the quoteto the customer.

To delete a product from a quote:

Procedure

  1. Log in to Sterling Field Sales.
  2. The application home page is displayed.Perform one of the following steps:
    • Click the Find Quote hyperlink.
    • Click the Opportunities tab.In the Opportunity home page click the Find Quote hyperlink.
    • Click the Quotes tab. Inthe Quote home page click the Find Quote hyperlink.
    • Navigate to the Opportunity Details screen andthen click the Quote Name hyperlink in the Quotes panel.In this scenario ignore steps 3 and 4 and proceed to step 5.
    • Under the Navigation panelclick Search... enter the name of the quoteas the search criteria and then click the Search icon. TheQuick Search Results screen displays a maximum of 10 quotes and 10opportunities matching the search criteria.
      Note: The Navigation panelis displayed only if you have not selected the Hide NavigationPanel user preference.

      If the quote thatyou are searching for is displayed in the Matches on Quotes panelclick the corresponding Quote Name hyperlink or double-click the correspondingrow. The Quote Summary screen is displayed. In this scenario ignoresteps 3 and 4 and proceed to step 5.

      Howeverif the quote that you are searching for is not displayed in the Matcheson Quotes panel click Advanced Quote Search.

  3. The Quote Search screen is displayed. Enterthe appropriate search criteria and click Search.
  4. The quotes matching the search criteriaare displayed in the Search Results panel. Clickthe corresponding Quote Name hyperlink or double-click the correspondingrow.
    Note: If only one quote matches thesearch criteria the details of the corresponding quote are automaticallydisplayed.
  5. The Quote Summary screen is displayed. Performeither of the following tasks:
    • Under the Tasks panel click ModifyQuote.
    • Click the Edit hyperlinkin the Lines panel.
  6. The Quote Details screen is displayed withthe Products tab highlighted. Perform eitherof the following steps:
    • Click the Quote Lines tabto delete a quote product line.
    • Click the Recommended Lines tabto delete a recommended product line.
  7. The list of products in the quote is displayed.To narrow down the list of products displayed perform the followingsteps:
    1. Click the Show Filter Options hyperlink.
    2. Select either of the following radiobuttons:
      • All Lines: Select this to display all theproducts that match the search criteria.
      • Lines Pending Approval: Select this to displayonly the products that match the search criteria and are pending approval.
    3. (Optional) Enter the Product ID as thesearch criteria in the Find Products Within Quote box andclick the Search icon.

      The listof products that match the search criteria is displayed.

      The total number of lines displayed on the page isdisplayed at the bottom of the page. By default the first 100 linesare displayed. Click Get More Records to retrievethe next set of lines and click Get All Records toretrieve all the lines that match the search criteria. You can sortthe lines by the Line # Product ID and Quantity in either an ascendingorder or a descending order. For example to sort the lines by Quantityin an ascending order move the pointer over the Quantity columnand select Sort Ascending from the drop-downlist.

      Note: When you sort the lines sorting isperformed on the server side. Therefore when you sort the linesall the lines that match the search criteria are considered for sorting.If there are any unsaved changes in the lines and you try to sortthe lines a warning message is displayed.
  8. (Optional) To clear the filter optionsclick the Hide And Clear Filter hyperlink.If there are any unsaved changes in a quote product line or a recommendedproduct line a message asking you for confirmation is displayed.Perform either of the following tasks:
    • Click Yes to proceed withoutsaving the changes.
    • Click No to close the messagebox and return to the Quote Details screen.
  9. Click the Delete icon adjacent tothe product that you want to delete. Alternatively perform the followingsteps:
    1. Select the check box adjacent to theproducts you want to delete.
    2. Click More andthen click Delete.
  10. A message asking you for confirmation isdisplayed. Click Yes.
  11. The product is no longer displayed in thelist of products displayed under the Products tab. Click Save.
    Note: If you do not click Savethe product will not be deleted from the quote.
