Mark a Quote as the Primary Quote

About this task

An opportunity can contain multiple quotes.In such a scenario you can define one of the quotes within an opportunityas a primary quote. You can however mark only one quote as a primaryquote for an opportunity. The details of the primary quote is usedfor analysis and reporting such as revenue forecasting.

Note: The first quote created is marked as the primary quoteby default.

To mark a quote as a primary quote:

Procedure

  1. Click the Quotes tab in the menubar.
  2. The Quote Home page is displayed. Performeither of the following steps:
    • Click the Find Quote hyperlink.
    • In the Search box enter the name of thequote as the search criteria and click the Search icon. TheQuick Search Results screen displays a maximum of 10 quotes matchingthe search criteria.

      If the quote that you are searchingfor is displayed in the Matches on Quotes panelclick the corresponding Quote Name hyperlink or double-click the correspondingrow. The Quote Summary screen is displayed. In this scenario ignoresteps 3 and 4.

      However if the quote that youare searching for is not displayed in the Matches on Quotes panelclick Advanced Quote Search.

  3. The Quote Search screen is displayed. Enterthe appropriate search criteria and click Search.
  4. The quotes matching the search criteriaare displayed in the Search Results panel. Clickthe corresponding Quote Name hyperlink or double-click the correspondingrow.
    Note: If only one quotematches the search criteria the details of the corresponding quoteare automatically displayed.
  5. The Quote Summary screen is displayed. Fromthe Actions drop-down list select Mark as PrimaryQuote.

    The Quote Summaryscreen is refreshed with the Primary Quote icon displayedto indicate that the quote is the primary quote.

    Note: Oncea quote is marked as the primary quote you cannot change it to anon-primary quote. To change a primary quote to a non-primary quoteyou must mark another quote as the primary quote.
