Definition of Trading Partner Name

Answer

Definition of Trading Partner Name

ATrading Partner Name is a name that can be associated with a tradingpartner ID so you do not need to remember the trading partner IDfor a trading partner. The trading partner name is set at a companylevel and once assigned is auto-assigned to (and can be used by)all businesses (divisions) within a company. Different companiescan assign different names to the same trading partner ID.

Once associated with a trading partner ID the trading partnername is associated with all transactions for that trading partnerincluding archived transactions (assuming you have subscribed forarchiving services). You can search on the trading partner name andthe name appears on most reports.

This capability allows company personnel to use Sterling InFlight Data Management withoutneeding to know a trading partner ID.

You need permission to be able to set up a trading partner name. For more information see Trading Partner Names.
