Receiving the Transmission Reports (020 and 030)

Question & Answer

Question

Receiving the Transmission Reports (020 and 030)

Answer

Receiving the Transmission Reports (020 and 030)

In your IBM? customer profileyou can define which transmission report you would like to receive.Options for receiving the reports include:

  • Both the Transmission Confirmation Report (020) and the TransmissionError Report (030)
  • Only the Transmission Confirmation Report (020)
  • Only the Transmission Error Report (030)
CAUTION:
Receiving only the Transmission Error Report(030) is not recommended because the report does not include totalsfor each interchange sent to a business partner. These totals canhelp you to monitor your EDI processing.

You can also choose which report version (standard expanded ordocument) and format (report or data) you want to receive. You canalso choose whether to have the 020/030 reports set up at the ID levelor the mailslot level. If set at the ID level the 020/030 reportis generated based on the profile set up for the first sender ID inthe batch. If set at the mailslot level the 020/030 report is generatedbased on the profile of the sender mailslot. If you are set up forID level reports and if the first interchange in a batch containsa sender ID not defined in your customer profile neither the TransmissionConfirmation Report (020) nor the Transmission Error Report (030)is generated.

All of these report choices are stored in your IBM customer profile.Contact Customer Support to change the reports you receive.
