Answer
Example of Processing Route Guide Rules in a Tender
The following workflow shows an example of how Sterling TMS processesthe primary and secondary Route Guide rules:
- Set up the Route Guide to perform automatic carrier selection.
- Define two Route Guide rules:
- The first rule uses sequential tendering.
- The second rule uses manual tendering.
- A shipment reaches the tender time fence which triggers the automaticcarrier selection process.
- Sterling TMS tendersthe shipment sequentially to each eligible carrier one at a time.
- If none of the carriers accept the load the tender expires and Sterling TMS changes the PlanStatus to Unplanned Past Due.
- You can tender the shipment to a single carrier:
- Select the shipment in the Execution module and click CarrierSelection.
- The Carrier Selection page lists the carriers that are eligibleto take the load based on the manual tendering rule you defined inStep 2.
