Tax Identification Numbers for Vouchers

Sterling TMS canautomatically apply tax identification numbers to the freight paymentvouchers the shipper organization receives.

For example the shipper and carrier do business in Canada andtheir freight payment transactions are required to specify the Goodsand Service Tax (GST) or Quebec Sales Tax (QST) number.

Sterling TMS usesthe following process to manage tax identification numbers:

  1. Carriers define tax identification numbers in their Sterling TMSprofile.
  2. The carrier submits an invoice to Sterling TMS for a Canadianshipment. The invoice includes charges for one or more Canadian taxes.
  3. Sterling TMS automaticallyincludes the tax identification numbers in the EDI 210 freight paymentvoucher that is sent to the shipper organization.

The carrier administrator can define the following tax identificationnumbers:
