Shipment Rerating Process
Sterling TMS automaticallyrecalculates the rate summary for each shipment if the charges haveto be updated. This process is known as rerating the shipment. Sterling TMS applies thecurrent linehaul rate and accessorial charges.
Thefollowing changes cause Sterling TMS to automaticallyrerate a shipment:
- Contract
Sterling TMS reratesa shipment if the contract lane used to rate the shipment changes.
Forexample the shipper proposes a rate change to the carrier and thecarrier accepts the proposal.
- Shipment
Sterling TMS reratesa shipment if any of these fields change on the shipment or the ordersin that shipment:
- Origin
- Destination
- SCAC
- Equipment
- Mode
- Service Type
- Accessorial Attribute
- Contract Attribute
- Package Type such as Pallets or Cartons
- Quantity Weight or Volume
