How do I make files writable on a Windows host?

Resolving The Problem

QUESTION: How do I make files writable on a Windows host?

ANSWER:
In the past, customers were given a zip file from a colleague, containing a model with controlled units. When the file was unzipped into a local directory, all the files had the read only attribute set. When you try to make a change to a controlled element from Rose RealTime, you will see the following error,

<unit_name> The files listed are not editable.

The file explorer for Windows does not allow you to make all files writable, including subdirectories and their files. A workaround for this is to open a command prompt and type the following command from the top level directory.

attrib -R *.* /s
