Problem
This technote explains why the Microsoft® Word and Microsoft Excel report options are missing from IBM® Rational® ClearQuest® Report Export options.
Cause
After creating a ClearQuest report using Crystal Reports and trying to export (the envelope icon), Microsoft Word and Excel are not listed as a choices in the Format dropdown list.
Resolving The Problem
Using the following to troubleshoot this issue:
- Were the export options previously there? If so, what changes have been made since it last worked?
- Do the following dll files exist under WINNT\Crystal
- U2FWORDW.dll (exports for MS Word)
- U2FXLS.dll (export file for Excel)
- Usually de-installing Business Objects Crystal Reports and ClearQuest fixes the problem.
- When de-installing make sure you do the following:
- Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and remove ClearQuest and Business Objectives Crystal Reports.
- In the system registry, delete the keys
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Rational Software
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rational Software
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rational Extended Help
- In Windows Explorer delete the directory where the products (TeamTest and Crystal Reports) had been installed.
- Reboot the system.
- Reinstall ClearQuest
- Reinstall Crystal Reports
