Problem
This technote explains how to resolve an ordinal 6880 error, that might occur when using IBM® Rational® Robot.
Symptom
The ordinal 6880 could not be located in the dynamic link library MFC42.dll - error message occurs when playing back a Robot GUI script against a PeopleSoft / PeopleTools Application.

Resolving The Problem
Typically, the solution to this error message is to rename all copies of the MFC42.dll on the affected computer, except for the version in C:\Windows\System 32. Or, if the file version of the MFC42.dll in C:\Windows\System 32 is not 6.xxx or later, to update the MFC42.dll.
If this does not resolve the issue, try the following:
- Open Robot.
- Click Tools -> Extension Manager.
- Check the PeopleTools option if it is not already checked.
- Uncheck every other option that is checked.
