MaaS360 for Android (Core app)

Support for location based policies for offline devices and WiFi proxy >>

MaaS360 extends the location based policy support to offline devices. When the device is online, MaaS360 agent automatically downloads all the policies and locations that are assigned to the device. When the device checks into the defined location, an appropriate policy is applied even though the device is offline. Also, MaaS360 adds a new policy to configure Wi-Fi proxy on Samsung devices.

Behavior changes in MaaS360 app when it runs on Android 8.0 platform >>

In addition to new features, MaaS360 for Android version 6.0 includes a variety of behavior changes as a part of compilation against Android OS version 8.0.

Enhancements to Trusteer Threat Management >>

MaaS360 enhances Trusteer Threat Management with new features to detect Wi-Fi security level, root hider software installed on the devices, and allowlisted app details.

New workflow for adding shortcuts on device home screen >>

With Android O, MaaS360 introduces different ways for users to configure website shortcuts, MaaS360 container app shortcuts, widgets, and web apps on the device home screen. In previous versions, duplicate shortcuts were created on home page and shortcuts were created without the knowledge of the users. Note: The changes are not supported on OS versions below Android O.

Categorization of MaaS360 notifications >>

With Android O, the notifications that users receive from MaaS360 are categorized into two types: Important and Information. The Important notifications make an alert sound, whereas Information notifications do not make any sound. Note: The changes are not supported on OS versions below Android O.

Android Enterprise

Support for new Android Enterprise policies >>

MaaS360 adds new policies for Bluetooth sharing, factory reset protection, and allowed idle time for stronger authentication.

Support for passing multiple app configurations through App Catalog >>

MaaS360 adds support for passing multiple app configurations using bundles within a bundle array. With this feature, administrators can define a maximum of 5 app restrictions for an app in the form of key and value pairs. Previously, MaaS360 allowed administrators to configure one app restriction for an app.

PIM Enhancements

One calendar for both work and personal events >>

Whether it is a restaurant reservation or sales appointment, users can view all events in MaaS360 Calendar without having to juggle between personal and work calendars. With this feature, users can have MaaS360 sync all the events from native calendar and display them in MaaS360 Calendar to conveniently view all events at once glance.

Support for customized notifications based on email subject >>

MaaS360 adds support for creating a customized email notification rule based on the strings in the subject line. This feature allows the users easily identity the severity of the email based on the notification. As a result, important emails can be attended immediately without a delay and unimportant emails can be ignored.

Support for certificate based authentication for secondary accounts >>

MaaS360 adds support for certificate based authentication for secondary email accounts. Previously, MaaS360 supported only password based authentication.

Rich Text Format (RTF) support for email signatures >>

MaaS360 adds support for Rich Text Format (RTF) for email signatures. This feature provides text formatting options such as bold, italic, underline, text color, and background color.

Support for restricting logon hours to company working hours >>

MaaS360 adds logon hours support to make it easier for the administrators to configure the days and hours when the users can access email server. When the logon hours expire, MaaS360 automatically stops syncing from the email servers.
