Summary

IBM Spectrum Protect (formerly Tivoli Storage Manager) Operations Center my display the password in plain text in the trace file when tracing is turned on.

CVEID: CVE-2018-1769
DESCRIPTION: IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Operations Center could disclose sensitive information when tracing is turned on for OC_TASKS, the monitoring id password will be displayed in plain text in the trace file if you do a hub config, add a spoke, or monitor a spoke.

Workarounds and Mitigations

To minimize exposure to this vulnerability, do not turn on logging unless instructed to do so by IBM and delete existing trace files that are no longer needed.
