IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS) is a high-performance clustered file system. It is used in IBM Storwize V7000 Unified.

DESCRIPTION: A vulnerability in GSKit affects IBM Spectrum Scale that could allow a local attacker to obtain control of the Spectrum Scale daemon and to access and modify files in the Spectrum Scale file system, and possibly to obtain administrator privileges on the node.

Affected Products and Versions

IBM Storwize V7000 Unified
The product is affected when running supported code releases 1.6.0.0 to 1.6.2.4. The product running unsupported code releases 1.5 or earlier are also affected.

Remediation/Fixes

A fix for these issues is in version v1.6.2.5 of IBM Storwize V7000 Unified. Customers running an affected version of IBM Storwize V7000 Unified should upgrade to 1.6.2.5 or a later version.

Latest Storwize V7000 Unified Software

Systems running an unsupported version (v1.5 or earlier) should be upgraded to the current release containing the security fixes.
