Troubleshooting
Problem
- If the motherboard is replaced, the Boot Settings will need to be updated on the new motherboard to be able to boot Linux.
- Additionally, If a hardware failure on a managed host requires that a NIC be replaced, the MAC address in the management interface's config file may need to be mapped to the new MAC address of the replacement NIC.
- For M5 hardware, the onboard 1G NICs are integrated into the motherboard.
- For M6 hardware, 1G NICs are on the LAN on Motherboard (LOM) card.
- For M7 hardware, 1G NICs are on the Open Compute Project (OCP) card.
- For all QRadar Hardware appliances, this could also be applicable to the 10/25G optical Ethernet adapter, if this adapter is used for QRadar's management interface for the host.
Symptom
- The host will not boot to Linux
- The host cannot communicate over the network to any of the other hosts in the deployment. No traffic is sent or received on NIC management interface.
