Summary
If an IBM i system is using iASPs you will need to change the iASP name after deployment (VM creation).
Steps
For example, to change the iASP name from "IASP710" to "IASP770":
- WRKDEVD DEVD(*ASP), it can be renamed (option 7) but notice that the
Resource name will remain the same.
Device description . . . . . . . . : IASP777
Option . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *BASIC
Category of device . . . . . . . . : *ASP
Resource name . . . . . . . . . . : IASP710
Relational database . . . . . . . : IASP710
Message queue . . . . . . . . . . : QSYSOPR
From a functional standpoint the resource name should not matter.
- SETASPGRP uses the iASP name.
If you need/want the resource name to match the name, the only option is to delete and recreate the iASP.
