If using IBM Decision Optimization Center (IDOC 3.9) with WebSphere 9, Maximo log will show the error below:

CNTR0020E: EJB threw an unexpected (non-declared) exception during invocation of method "sessionAvailable" on bean "BeanId(odme-optimserver-processor#optimserver-processor-ejb.jar#IloJobProcessorListener, null)". Exception data: java.lang.NullPointerException

To resolve

1. IDOC is not supported on  WebSphere 9,  as shown in the Software Product Compatibility Report for IDOC 3.9.0.1. Install WebSphere Application Server 8.5.5.x and apply the latest Fix Packs to it. 

2. Download and update IDOC to Fix Pack 3.9.0.2  (select the version and platform on the right hand side of the web page)
