Abstract

IBM Copy Services Manager embeds the IBM Java SDK or IBM Semeru Runtime™ Certified Edition and IBM WebSphere Liberty. This document provides details on the levels of Java and WebSphere embedded with IBM Copy Services Manager.

Recommended Action

IBM Copy Services Manager uses the IBM Java SDK or IBM Semeru Runtime™ Certified Edition and WebSphere Liberty server in the infrastructure.  Both of these components are embedded within the installation of the product and can only be updated using the Copy Services Manager installer.  Copy Services Manager makes a continuing effort to update both the Java and WebSphere levels in each release to ensure the latest security fixes are picked up.

The table below indicates which versions of Java and WebSphere are embedded in which Copy Services Manager releases. The following are applicable to all Operating Systems Copy Services Manager supports.

Copy Services Manager when running on the DS8000 HMC, the DS8000 Appliance or on System z, is not affected by the CPU vulnerabilities.  For stand-alone Distributed installations, please see the following notice on the CPU design flaw.  Customers are encouraged to review and apply any necessary Operating Systems patches if and when they are available based on the recommendation of the Operating System.
