Error description
On March,8 customer had a maintenance window from 0:30am to 2:00am. After the maintenance window was over they tried to check if files get processed by filegateway. They searched for files at this time but did not get any search results back. After 3:00am they observed that they now can see the files even processed between 2:00am and 3:00am. Please note the time used here is GMT because customer's env is located in UK. They made further investigations and found for Mar,8: -When searching in the FGUI for files between 0030 and 0300, the files (from 0200-0259) are shown. -When searching in the FGUI for files between 0030 and 0259, no files are shown (there should be files from 0200-0259) They put the filegateway.log file to debug log-level and did the following: 1) They searched in filegateway for files processed between 0030-0259: [2026-03-11 11:28:09.913] DEBUG FGApiImpl - searchFgArrivedFile the document that came from the client <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <searchFgArrivedFile> <FgSearch ArrivedFileDateFrom="2026-03-08T00:30:00-05:00" ArrivedFileDateTo="2026-03-08T02:59:00-04:00" SearchType="0" SortDir="DESC" SortOrderBy="Createts"/> </searchFgArrivedFile> #FG converts that to search for 0030-0159!!! [2026-03-11 11:28:09.913] DEBUG ArrivedFileSearchExecutor.doSearch : query string: WHERE ( FG_ARRIVEDFILE.CREATETS >= '20260308003000' AND FG_ARRIVEDFILE.CREATETS <= '20260308015900' ) ORDER BY FG_ARRIVEDFILE.CREATETS DESC [2026-03-11 11:28:09.925] DEBUG ArrivedFileSearchExecutor.getTotalRecordsInFgArrivedFile() executing [select count(*) from FG_ARRIVEDFILE WHERE ( FG_ARRIVEDFILE.CREATETS >= '20260308003000' AND FG_ARRIVEDFILE.CREATETS <= '20260308015900' )] and they no files back as search result because at 1:59 there was still the maintenance window. 2) when they search for for files processed between 0030-0300, the correct sql query is used, i.e. [select count(*) from FG_ARRIVEDFILE WHERE ( FG_ARRIVEDFILE.CREATETS >= '20260308003000' AND FG_ARRIVEDFILE.CREATETS <= '20260308030000' )] and they get back the correct result of processed files between 2:00 and 3:00 This only occurred on Mar,8 at 2:00am GMT. Mar,8 2:00am --> 3:00am was the change of daylight saving time in the US - even if this environment is in the UK and uses GMT, the daylight saving time change in the US seemed to have an impact on this system.
Local fix
Problem summary
Users Affected: All Problem Description: In IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, FileGateway searches may not return files for date ranges that include a United States Daylight Saving Time transition. As a result, expected files are not listed in search results even though they exist within the specified timeframe. Platforms Affected: All
Problem conclusion
Resolution Summary: Updated FileGateway search processing to correctly handle dates during United States Daylight Saving Time transitions. Both XAPI XML processing and SQL query generation now use the correct date values when searching for files.
