Abstract

This document describes how to download and install IBM Tivoli Network Manager IP Edition Version 4.2 Fix Pack 25 Interim Fix 1.

Download Description

This is an interim fix for IBM Tivoli Network Manager Fix Pack 25 and addresses several security vulnerabilities and other known issues.

Installation Instructions

IMPORTANT: This fix contains updates for Network Manager Core and GUI components.

Prerequisites for installation

You must have Network Manager Fix Pack 25 installed. See https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7273410 for instructions on how to download and install that Fix Pack.

To install multiple interim fixes, install them in the order in which they were released, for example, Interim Fix 1 followed by Interim Fix 2, and so on.

Installation

  1. Unzip the downloaded file. There is one file for all supported platforms.
  2. Copy the file to the servers where the relevant Network Manager components are installed.
  3. Stop Network Manager.
  4. Start IBM Installation Manager.
  5. Add the downloaded file as a local repository.
  6. Update the relevant Network Manager components using this repository.
  7. After the update finishes, go to 'View Installed Packages' to check that '4.2.0.25_IF1-all 4.2' is present for all relevant Network Manager components.
  8. Start Network Manager.

Uninstallation

If you installed multiple interim fixes, uninstall them in reverse order, for example, Interim Fix 3, then Interim Fix 2, and so on.

  1. Stop Network Manager.
  2. Launch IBM Installation Manager.
  3. From the main menu, select Uninstall.
  4. Select '4.2.0.25_IF1-all 4.2' under the relevant Network Manager components.
  5. Uninstall the fix from the selected component.
  6. After the uninstallation finishes, go to 'View Installed Packages' to confirm that '4.2.0.25_IF1-all 4.2' is not present.
  7. Start Network Manager.
