Troubleshooting


Problem

The DWC installation log shows the following messages:

JVMDUMP055I Processing dump event "systhrow", detail "java/lang/OutOfMemoryError", exception "Java heap space" at 2026/07/07 14:14:52 - please wait.

JVMDUMP032I JVM requested System dump using 'USER1.JVM.D260707.T141452.X&DS' in response to an event

IEATDUMP in progress with options SDATA=(LPA,GRSQ,LSQA,NUC,PSA,RGN,SQA,SUM,SWA,TRT)

DWC on z/OS

 

Diagnosing The Problem

The JVM dump shows Xmx8 value if you search for IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS.

Resolving The Problem

Using OMVS run the following commands to check the current value for these two variables: 

printenv IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS
printenv JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS

Then, change the value and check again  

export IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xms64m -Xmx512m"
printenv IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS

export JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS="-Xms64m -Xmx512m"
printenv JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS
