Error description

  • The following messages are seen in MSTR job log: CSQY221I cpf
CSQSCTL Queue manager is short of local storage CSQY222E cpf
CSQSCTL Queue manager is critically short of local storage -
    take action

The messages CSQY220I issued over the time show a gradual
reduction of free area in local storage.

The memory leak is of eTROP control blocks from the 'CFM Thread
Ops' storage pool. The eTROP blocks being leaked represent
browse locked messages from shared queues.

The memory leak is a result of a bug when an expired message on
a shared queue is browsed with MQGMO_LOCK. Each time this
    happens, a 120 byte CSQE_Browse_Locked_Designation eTROP is
    leaked.

Local fix

  • There is no circumvention for this problem, except avoiding the
    described application pattern.

    ****************************************************************
The memory leak of eTROP control blocks occurs when an attempt
to browse lock an expired message on a shared queue with the
MQGMO option MQGMO_LOCK. In this scenario an eTrop of size 120
    bytes is leaked.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been corrected to correctly free the eTROP that is
created when attempting to browse lock an expired message on a
    shared queue.
